Anthony Wilkinson Gallery, UK
Anthony Wilkinson started in the mid 90s curating shows in temporary spaces and alternative venues such as the Cubitt Gallery, and also ran a project space in central London for two years.
Anthony Wilkinson Gallery opened in 1998 on Bethnal Green’s Cambridge Heath Road in the heart of the East End of London. The gallery became Wilkinson Gallery from 2002 and relocated to Vyner Street E2 2007 – 2016. Anthony Wilkinson Gallery reformed in 2017 and continued without a permanent space but recently opened a new space on Lexington Street in 2024. The gallery has represented a number of artists for many years including Elizabeth Magill, A K Dolven, George Shaw and has shows planned with Richard Billingham, Dag Erik Elgin, Paul Winstanley and A K Dolven in next months.

Featured Artists
This year's presentation
Anthony Wilkinson Gallery’s presentation at Market Art Fair consists of works by artists that use their everyday surroundings as source for their work.
George Shaw – paintings are based around where he lived as a child – Tile Hill, Coventry and surrounding countryside. His paintings have a haunting innocence and are as much about what has been forgotten, lost, swept away as about what is remembered. James White – is well known for his highly detailed paintings of incidental moments / observations. Derived from photographs and painted in a highly contrasted monochrome palette – his works, function as stills of life. A K Dolven – has used her location and herself in many works particularly in her video works. Richard Billingham – documented his home life and alcoholic parents in his now famous photographic series ‘Rays a Laugh’. Dag Erik Elgin – has worked for many years on an ongoing series of evening drawings of his immediate surroundings executed at home. Simple line drawings of the domestic.
