Tickets and Entrance
When is Market Art Fair?
Market Art Fair takes place on 17–19 May 2024.
What are fair opening and closing times?
The opening hours of both venues, Market Art Fair at Liljevalchs and Market Debut at Spritmuseum are:
Friday, 17 May: 15:00–19:00
Opening Night Party. Saturday, 18 May: 11:00–18:00
Sunday, 19 May: 11:00–17:00
(please note that the last entry is 15 minutes before closing).
Where can I buy a ticket?

Can I buy a ticket at the door of the fair?
Whilst we encourage visitors to buy their tickets in advance to ensure guaranteed entry to the fair, it is possible to buy tickets on the door. Tickets sold at the door are subject to availability so you may need to wait for entry during busy periods.
How much is a ticket?
Admission Friday: Opening Night: 250 kr
Admission weekend (includes entry to Market Art Fair at Liljevalchs, Market Debut at Spritmuseum and the exhibitions at Liljevalchs+ and Spritmuseum:
Adult: 150 kr
Student/Senior: 130 kr
Free entrance for everyone aged 18 or under.
How long can I stay inside the fair?
Once inside Market Art Fair you are welcome to stay and enjoy the artworks for an unlimited period until closing time.
Can I return to the fair at another time if I have purchased a ticket?
If you wish to leave Market Art Fair and return on the same day, re-entry is only possible on production of your ticket.
How can I get a ticket to the VIP Preview?
The VIP Preview is by invitation only.
How do I get a ticket to the Opening Night?
A limited number of tickets are available to purchase for the Opening Night, you can find them here

Your Visit
Can I bring my pet to the fair?
Dogs, cats and other pets are not permitted to be brought into Liljevalchs or Spritmuseum.
Is there a cloakroom?
There are cloakrooms available at both Liljevalchs and Spritmuseum, however space is limited. To avoid disappointment, we strongly recommend you bring minimal personal belongings to the venue.
Can I bring a bag into the fair?
Large bags are not permitted to be carried inside the fair. All backpacks, suitcases and large items bigger than a handbag or a laptop bag will need to be stored in the cloakroom, where space is limited. To avoid disappointment, we strongly recommend you bring minimal personal belongings to the venue.
How do I get to the fair?
We encourage you to use sustainable forms of transport to access the fair. It is easiest to travel to both Liljevalchs and Spritmuseum on foot, by bike or public transport (bus, tram or ferry).

On foot Liljevalchs and Spritmuseum is a short walk from the city centre on the tranquil island Djurgården.
Public transport
Tram 7 to Liljevalchs/Gröna Lund
Bus 67 to Liljevalchs/Gröna Lund
Ferries Djurgårdsfärjan 82 or Sjövägen 80 (station Allmänna gränd)
Private vehicles Djurgården is not accessible to private vehicles on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays, 11am–5pm.
Buses, taxis and vehicles with a valid disability permit are permitted to access Djurgården during these times.
Is there parking at the fair?
Where possible we encourage you to use sustainable forms of transport to access the fair. It is easiest to travel to both Liljevalchs and Spritmuseum on foot, by bike or public transport (bus, tram or ferry).
Is the fair fully accessible?
Yes, Market Art Fair 2023 is fully accessible for people with reduced mobility. Both venues, Market Art Fair at Liljevalchs and Market Debut at Spritmuseum, are accessible as follows:
Accessible ramps at the main entrance and a lift between floors. Taxis and vehicles with a valid disability permit are able stop in drop off and pick up in front of the main entrance. Toilets for visitors with reduced mobility are available. Dogs, cats and other pets must not be brought into either venue.
Liljevalchs: A hearing aid system is installed in Liljevalchs art gallery. Roger MyLink hearing aid system, a universal FM receiver compatible with any hearing aid or telesole implant. The hearing loop is available at reception. The hearing aid should be set to the "T" position.
Spritmuseum: The exhibition Sweden – Spirits of a Nation contains fragrances. Some parts of the exhibition are dimly lit.
Are there any wheelchairs available at the fair?
There are a limited number of wheelchairs available at Liljevalchs. If you need a wheelchair, please speak to a member of staff at the ticket enquiries desk or to a member of security, who will be able to assist you.
There are no wheelchairs available at Spritmuseum.
Is there food and beverage provided at the fair?

Classic restaurant Blå Porten is available for fika and Mediterranean lunch dishes, with both indoor and outdoor seating. as well as the Blå+ vegetarian cafe is also available in Liljevalchs+. The Deutz champagne bar is open for the duration of the fair where you can also purchase beverages.
Spritmuseum
The restaurant is available for weekday lunch, bistro dishes and weekend brunch. The bar is open with craft drinks from all over Sweden and also serves light fika.
Buy Art
Are the artworks for sale?
Yes. If you would like to purchase an artwork speak to the relevant gallery who will be happy to help.
What are the transport options for artworks purchased at the fair?
Market Art Fair is happy to collaborate with art transport partner TransArt. For quotes and guidance on transport options we encourage you to speak with a representative at the TransArt desk at the fair.
How are the galleries selected for the fair?
Participating galleries for Market Art Fair and Market Debut are selected by an international selection committee consisting of: Chairman Lars Nittve, founding director of Tate Modern, and former director of Moderna Museet, Louisiana Museum of Modern Art and M+, is today an independent advisor to museums worldwide, based in Åre, Sweden (SE), Pilvi Kalhama, museum director at EMMA Espoo Art Museum (FI), Magnus af Petersens, independent curator (SE) and Marie Nipper, Director of ARKEN Museum of Modern Art (DK).

What is Market Debut at Spritmuseum?
Market Debut at Spritmuseum, is an ambitious section that exclusively focuses on up-and-coming talent making waves on the Nordic artscene today. Twelve artists, and eight galleries new to Market Art Fair are presented at Spritmuseum, a short walk from Market Art Fair at Liljevalchs. Market Debut is included with your fair ticket.
What is Art Vox at Market?
Market Art Fair continues to champion inspiring conversation, engaging talks and pioneering ideas at this year’s fair with the launch of a new collaboration with podcast and talks platform ART VOX. ART VOX at MARKET aims to be the leading programme for art conversation in the Nordic region, exploring contemporary art, and its relevance and impact on the world today. ART VOX at MARKET talks programme is included with your fair ticket.
What is Market Extended?
Market Extended is an outdoor presentation of compelling contemporary sculpture sited in the courtyard of Blå Porten. The Market Extended presentation is included with your fair ticket.
What is Made in Market?
Made in Market is an engaging series of conversations and interviews recorded at the heart of last autumn’s fair. Hear from artists and knowledgeable experts as they explore ideas and debate on art and its relevance to our lives today. Episodes are available to stream or download via the usual podcast apps and here on our website.
