How do I find out when tickets are released for the fair?

What are fair opening and closing times?

Entry to the fair is date and time specific. You will only be allowed to enter on the specific date and entry time slot listed on your tickets.

 

Friday, 29 April: 17.30–20.00 (limited tickets available)

Saturday, 30 April: 11:00–18:00

Sunday, 1 May: 11:00–17:00

 

Each day there are two entry time slots:

Saturday, 30 April: 11:00–14:00, and 14:30–18:00

Sunday, 1 May: 11:00–14:00, and 14:30–17:00

Last entry is 15 minutes before closing.

Where can I buy a ticket?

Tickets are available for purchase on Billetto.

Can I buy a ticket at the door of the fair?

Whilst we encourage visitors to buy their tickets in advance to ensure guaranteed entry to the fair, it is possible to buy tickets on the door. Tickets sold at the door are subject to availability so you may need to wait for entry during busy periods.

How much is a ticket?

Day Ticket Price:

170 Kr - Adult

130 Kr - Concession proof of eligibility required (Senior, aged 65+ / Student)

Free - Children aged 16 and under

What if I miss my timed entry slot?

Entrance to the fair is time and date specific. Pre-purchased tickets have guaranteed entry within the allocated entry time slot. If you arrive outside of your allocated entry slot, access to the fair cannot be guaranteed and will be at Market Art Fair’s discretion and subject to availability.

How long can I stay inside the fair?

Once inside Market Art Fair you are welcome to stay and enjoy the artworks for an unlimited period until closing time.

Can I return to the fair at another time if I have purchased a ticket?

If you wish to leave Market Art Fair and return on the same day, re-entry is only possible on production of your ticket within your entry time slot.

What is the time of last entry to the fair?

The fair closing times are as follows, last entry is 15 minutes before closing.

Saturday, 30 April: 18.00

Sunday, 1 May: 17.00

Are there any discounts for groups?

Tickets are sold for individual entry, there are no group discounts.

Do I need to purchase a ticket for children?

No, the fair is free for visitors age 16 and under, as long as the visitor is accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket or invitation. We ask that children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Will I receive a refund if the fair is postponed or cancelled?

Yes, if the fair is postponed or cancelled, your ticket will be rolled over to our next fair, or if you prefer you will be refunded. Please be aware that we are administering tickets through Billetto and there will be a handling fee.

How can I get a ticket to the VIP Preview?

The VIP Preview is by invitation only.

How do I get a ticket to the Opening Night?

A limited number of tickets are available to purchase for the Opening Night from Billetto.

Your visit

Can I bring my pet to the fair?

Dogs, cats and other pets are not permitted to be brought into Liljevalchs.

Is there a cloakroom?

There is space for coats in the cloakroom however this is limited. To avoid disappointment, we strongly recommend you bring minimal personal belongings to the venue.

Can I bring a bag into the fair?

Large bags are not permitted to be carried inside the fair. All backpacks, suitcases and large items bigger than a handbag or a laptop bag will need to be stored in the cloakroom, where space is limited. To avoid disappointment, we strongly recommend you bring minimal personal belongings to the venue.

How do I get to the fair?

Where possible we encourage you to use sustainable forms of transport to access the fair.

On foot Liljevalchs is a short walk from the city centre on the tranquil island Djurgården.

Ferries Djurgårdsfärjan 82 or Sjövägen 80 (station Allmänna gränd)

Private vehicles Djurgården is not accessible to private vehicles on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays, 11am–5pm.

Buses, taxis and vehicles with a valid disability permit are permitted to access Djurgården during these times.

Is there parking at the fair?

Where possible we encourage you to use sustainable forms of transport to access the fair.

Is the fair fully accessible?

Yes, Market Art Fair is fully accessible for people with reduced mobility as follows:

  • Liljevalchs’ main entrance has a ramp adapted to wheelchairs.
  • Taxis and vehicles with a valid disability permit are able stop in drop off and pick up in front of the main entrance.
  • Toilets for visitors with reduced mobility – one on the entrance floor and one on the ground floor.
  • A hearing aid system is installed in the art gallery. Roger MyLink hearing aid system, a universal FM receiver compatible with any hearing aid or telesole implant. The hearing loop is available at reception. The hearing aid should be set to the "T" position
  • Dogs, cats and other pets must not be brought into Liljevalchs.

Are there any wheelchairs available at the fair?

There are a limited number of wheelchairs available at the fair. If you need a wheelchair, please speak to a member of staff at the ticket enquiries desk or to a member of security, who will be able to assist you.

Will there be any Covid restrictions at the fair?

Your safety is our priority. We will adhere to all relevant Covid-19 measures in place at the time of the fair. We kindly remind you that if you feel unwell, to stay at home and explore the artworks on Artsy or our website instead. Hand sanitizers will be freely available at the fair.

Is there food and beverage provided at the fair?

Yes, you can purchase food at the fair. Classic restaurant Blå Porten is available with both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as the Blå+ vegetarian cafe in Liljevalchs+. The Deutz champagne bar is open for the duration of the fair where you can also purchase beverages.

Are the artworks for sale?

Yes. If you would like to purchase an artwork speak to the relevant gallery who will be happy to help.

What are the transport options for artworks purchased at the fair?

Market Art Fair is happy to collaborate with art transport partner TransArt. For quotes and guidance on transport options we encourage you to speak with a representative at the TransArt desk at the fair.

Can I arrange insurance for my artwork at the fair?

Yes. You can arrange art insurance at the fair with our art insurance partner Brookfield. While the majority of the artworks you see at Market Art Fair on Artsy.com may be exhibited at the fair, there is no guarantee that the artwork will still be for sale at the time of your visit. How are the galleries selected for the fair?

Participating galleries are selected by an international selection committee consisting of: Chairman Lars Nittve, founding director of Tate Modern, and former director of Moderna Museet, Louisiana Museum of Modern Art and M+, is today an independent advisor to museums worldwide, based in Åre, Sweden (SE), Pilvi Kalhama, museum director at EMMA Espoo Art Museum (FI), Magnus af Petersens, independent curator (SE) and Marianne Torp, chief curator of contemporary Art at the Statens Museum for Kunst (DK).

What are Market Talks?

Market Talks is an inspiring programme of engaging talks providing fresh perspectives on how contemporary art shapes and is influenced by the world around us, where you can hear artists, curators and art professionals explore ideas and debate on art and its relevance to our lives today. Market Extended is an outdoor presentation of compelling contemporary sculpture sited in the courtyard of Blå Porten. The Market Extended presentation is included with your fair ticket.

Made in Market is an engaging series of conversations and interviews recorded at the heart of last autumn’s fair. Hear from artists and knowledgeable experts as they explore ideas and debate on art and its relevance to our lives today. Episodes are available to stream or download via the usual podcast apps and here on our website.
