The presentation unfolds beneath a perpetual Starry Night, rendered in the form of cast bronze breads by Benedikte Bjerre. Marie Lund’s wall-mounted sculptures The Thickness sits on the wall as brackets framing Simon Dybbroe Møller’s photographic work Retinal Rift. Here, the mechanics of an organic eye – looking up and away – is captured by a machine eye, staging an encounter between the mechanical and the unsettlingly human, like glimpses into an abyss: a shared threshold of uncanny intelligence and fragile symbiosis. A sign high on the wall Ann Lislegaard’s Algorithms—Remains of a Language, gestures as a pause or comma. Meanwhile, Tora Schultz’s Pinocchio is bent and shaped with a face turned inward, the elongated nose concealed within the wall evoking the transformation of Carlo Collodi’s brutal 19th-century tale into Disney’s sanitized adaptation, mirroring the tension between acts of creation and the pressures of structural power.
