Kristian Dahlgaard, DK

Kristian Dahlgaard (b. 1958) works extensively with the sculpture’s weight and the absence of mass.

His works are meticulously engineered. First, they materialize as cardboard models and later as hundreds of bronze parts. The pieces of this three-dimensional puzzle are arranged and welded together, one by one.

Since the groundbreaking exhibition ”Kniven på Hovedet” in 1982, Kristian Dahlgaard has exhibited at Esbjerg ArtMuseum, Kunsten Museum of Modern Art Aalborg, Kunstforeningen Gl. Strand, Herning Art Museum, Den Frie Udstillingsbygning, among others. Dahlgaard’s work can be found in several major collections such as SMK StatensMuseum for Kunst, Ny Carlsbergfondet, Kunsten Museum of Modern Art i Aalborg, Collection Nobel & Hug in Zürich as well as Anni & Otto Detlefs Fonden.
