Carola Grahn, SE
Carola Grahn (b. 1982, Sweden) is a contemporary artist whose practice engages critically with colonial history, Indigenous identity, and structures of representation.
Drawing on her Sámi heritage, she works across sculpture, installation, and text, using material and language to interrogate dominant cultural and institutional narratives.
Through restrained formal strategies and a conceptually rigorous approach, Grahn foregrounds Indigenous perspectives to question the neutrality of museums, archives, and nation-states. Her work situates itself within broader decolonial discourse, emphasizing how historical power structures continue to shape contemporary political and cultural realities.
