Andréhn-Schiptjenko Brings Parisian Discoveries to Market Art Fair 2025

Ranti Bam and Amine Habki blend tradition and innovation, using clay and textiles to explore identity, transformation, and cultural narratives.
The opening of Andréhn-Schiptjenko’s second venue at 56 rue Chapon in Paris has, according to the gallery, marked an exciting chapter in its history. It has provided room to expand their exhibition programme, created opportunities to connect with new voices in contemporary art, and has become a dynamic platform for the gallery to foster creative connections and discover emerging talent.
For Market Art Fair 2025, Andréhn-Schiptjenko brings this international influence back to Stockholm, presenting two artists recently exhibited in their Paris gallery: Ranti Bam and Amine Habki. Both artists, exhibiting in the Nordics for the first time, offer unique perspectives through their innovative approaches to materials often associated with traditional crafts, such as textiles and ceramics. Together, their works promise an engaging and sensuous experience for visitors at Liljevalchs.
Born in Nigeria in 1982, Ranti Bam lives and works between Paris and London. Her practice centres on clay, which she embraces for its healing properties and narrative flexibility. Before firing her pieces, Bam performs a ritual-like act, clutching and shaping the clay with her hands and body. This process imbues her sculptures with a profound sense of intimacy, merging her identity with the material. She intentionally challenges traditional notions of sculpture, embracing cracks and reconstructions as part of the work’s evolving form.

Bam’s artistic journey extends beyond the studio, as she conducts residencies, workshops, and interactive sessions—often with disenfranchised communities and feminist groups. These efforts highlight the socially engaged aspects of her practice, making her work both formally and conceptually rich.

Amine Habki, born in Nantes in 2000, is a recent graduate of the École nationale supérieure d’art de Paris-Cergy. Drawing on his Franco-Moroccan heritage, Habki deconstructs traditional notions of masculinity through vibrant textile works, embroidery, and repurposed objects. His pieces blend elements of painting, sculpture, and textile design, creating intimate micro-narratives that reflect his ongoing exploration of identity.

In 2022, Habki received multiple awards recognising his bold and innovative approach. His works, with their layered textures and deeply personal themes, invite viewers to reimagine familiar ideas of self and body.
Both Ranti Bam and Amine Habki’s works engage with tradition yet push its boundaries, creating a compelling dialogue at Liljevalchs.
