This year's presentation
CFHILL presents a visionary landscape where the works of Isak Hall and Ester Eriksson reawaken Romantic ideals – with a contemporary twist. Hall’s paintings, rooted in Renaissance techniques, evoke otherworldly spaces that feel both timeless and urgent. His spectral landscapes blur the line between reality and the sublime, capturing an artist enthralled by the mysteries of nature.
Through a different lens, Eriksson’s sculptures introduce an untamed spirit to these dreamscapes. Her figures, raw and free, embody the Romantic pursuit of personal liberation—a world unbounded by convention and brimming with imagination.
Together, Hall and Eriksson reimagine the familiar through alternate perspectives, bridging technique with instinct, order with chaos. The result mirrors our modern Scandinavian identity—its nostalgia and its unyielding quest for freedom and self-expression. In an age of increasing rationality, these artists remind us of the “enchanted reality” lying just beyond the boundaries of the everyday.
