Market Art Fair 2023
Market Art Fair 2023 saw the inaugural edition of Market Debut at Spritmuseum. The initiative focused on up-and-coming talent on the Nordic art scene and featured seven young galleries from four countries.
The main fair section was once again held at Liljevalchs; spanning four days, 40 galleries, over 70 artists and thousands of visitors. Notable presentations included a long awaited solo booth by award-winning Sámi artist Britta Marakatt-Labba, new works by Jockum Nordström and first time participation by galleries as von Bartha, Carl Kostyál and Persons Projects.
2023 marked the beginning of Market Art Fair’s collaboration with Lead Partner SEB, allowing the fair to grow its position and further support the art scene in Stockholm. It was also the first year of the BMW artists commission, which was awarded to Swedish-Estonian painter Siiri Jüris. Her artwork adorned the all-electric BMW fleet which – much appreciated – transported visitors to the fair and around Stockholm.

“There is currently new energy and momentum in the Nordic art scene, with many new galleries and artists. Market Debut – our response to the dynamism of the Nordic art scene – aims to ignite inspiring dialogues, connect and build relationships with Market Art Fair’s strong network of collectors, institutions and art lovers.” – Sara Berner Bengtsson, Director
