A Collector’s Eye: Finding Character in Art and Real Estate
For Per Jansson, his eye for discovering properties with unique character and elevated aesthetics has influenced the art he collects.
His first acquisition, an installation by Bigert & Bergström, marked the start of a deep connection between his work and his passion for art. Today, Jansson’s collection includes works by both Swedish and international artists, united in his belief that art, as in real estate, it’s the unique character, the soul of a place, that elevates it beyond mere material, making the two inseparable in his work.
Per Jansson established his eponymous real estate firm, Per Jansson Fastighetsförmedling, in 1994. With over 30 years in the industry, Jansson remains an active and driving force behind the company, which has grown to include a team of 10 dedicated professionals working from their Karlaplan office since 1996.
Jansson’s company is known not only for its expertise in luxury real estate but also for its strong ties to the art world. A proud partner of Market Art Fair for several years, Jansson has cemented his place at the intersection of real estate and art. Over the years, he has also curated an impressive personal collection that reflects his passion for the visual arts, featuring works by renowned artists such as Isabella Ducrot and Ulla Wiggen, among others.
“I have always had a strong passion for beautiful homes and architecture. The opportunity to help people find their dream homes in the premium segment, where each property has a unique character, was something that truly attracted me. The combination of aesthetics and business sense has been a perfect match for me.”

“Just like artworks, every property has its own story, its own soul. It’s about conveying the right feeling and experience, both for the buyer and the seller.”
“Art has always been a great source of inspiration for me and I see a strong connection between art and real estate, especially in the type of exclusive properties we work with. Just like artworks, every property has its own story, its own soul. It’s about conveying the right feeling and experience, both for the buyer and the seller.”

“For me, real estate and art really go hand in hand. They’re both about creating and experiencing beauty, so it just makes sense that they complement each other. I mean, decorating and showcasing properties with art is a natural part of the process. The key for me has been finding that balance — letting both passions enrich each other rather than feeling like they’re competing for my time.
Collecting art gives me an even deeper connection to aesthetics and creativity, which in turn inspires my work. My background in real estate, where every detail matters, has definitely shaped my taste. I find myself drawn to artworks that exude quality, detail, and timelessness, just like the properties I love to work with.”

“I believe that art in an office environment is incredibly important. It not only creates a more inspiring and pleasant workplace, but it can also reflect the company’s values and identity. A well-chosen piece of art can make a strong impression on both employees and visitors.”
