Market Art Fair

Wilson Saplana Gallery, DK

It is Wilson Saplana’s mission to exhibit visionary artists and present high-quality experimental exhibitions. Working from the method of artistic development the gallery has shown a strong ability to spot younger artistic talents and support their professional artistic careers.

The gallery is international both in its way of working and thinking and values a diverse program. The represented artists work with multiple media, are from different nationalities and are not tied to one generation. The gallery was founded in January 2022 by gallerist Christina Wilson, art advisor and former owner of Gallery Christina Wilson(2000-2012), and curator Nanna Saplana.

This year's presentation

Wilson Saplana Gallery presents Nordic and international artists under the curatorial concept Silent Power. The artists are Inuuteq Storch (GL), Sophie Calle (FR), Ida Thorhauge (DK), and Mikkel Ørsted (DK).

All the artists have been chosen for their specific ability to create intimate, locale, and small stories that provide the audience the space to reflect upon the bigger picture and the current state of the world. In this way, they elude a kind of silent power. Seeing two beings in embrace reminds us of our need for other people, experiencing someone reveal their innermost private stories reminds us of how much we try to keep it all together – for who and why? And seeing someone live in strange environments under nature’s terms, reminds us of our estrangement to the material world.
