Gallery Steinsland Berliner, SE

Gallery Steinsland Berliner is a gallery for contemporary art based on Södermalm in Stockholm since 2008. The gallery aims to collaborate with artists on a long-term representational basis and has been a dynamic destination for contemporary art with a focus on domestic and international painting, sculpture, photography, and performance since its conception.

The gallery champions its affiliated artists by participating in art fairs and working with collectors, institutions and public as well as private initiatives on an international scale with Scandinavia as the point of departure.Founded on principles of community, artistic freedom and a DIY-mentality, the gallery originally became a permissive room for emerging and non-traditional artists, many of whom have established themselves as important players on the Scandinavian art scene and beyond.

Alongside active support of some of the country’s most prolific present-day artists, the gallery’s history of recognizing potential is maintained through regularly debuting artists and bridging the gap between the traditional gallery and art sprung from less conventional contexts. The gallery operates in fundamental allegiance with the artist.
