This year's presentation
At Market Art Fair 2026 Galerie Anhava presents works of two Finnish artists: Elina Merenmies and Joel Slotte. The two artists of different generations are both known for their strong, distinctive styles that offer glimpses into worlds where personal stories, mystical visions, and complex characters meet.
Drawing on historical accounts, literature and religious texts, Merenmies’s works form a deep, timeless, internal and unique world of their own, whereas Slotte gives his portraits a thrilling spin with symbols from art history, plant folklore, subculture aesthetics and everyday incidents. Merenmies has shown her work at Galerie Anhava since 2002, and Slotte is one of the gallery’s most recent artist additions.
