albertz benda, US
Founded in 2015, albertz benda is a contemporary art gallery with an emphasis on solo presentations of emerging and mid-career artists and thematic group exhibitions.
With a global and diverse perspective, the artists represented by the gallery explore cultural and social dialogues, as well as themes of materiality across generational contexts and artistic disciplines. The gallery also conducts new research into historic figures, examining the entirety of careers across decades and placing their work within a contemporary context. In 2021, albertz benda expanded to a second location in Los Angeles exhibiting within the context of a domestic setting.
The gallery has supported numerous institutional projects and acquisitions. Works by gallery artists can be found globally in prominent public collections.

This year's presentation
albertz benda will exhibit a focused suite of new paintings for Stockholm by Swedish–Gambian artist Rugiyatou Jallow, drawing on her childhood in Sweden to open a new chapter in her practice.
Born in Stockholm, Jallow centers Black and mixed-race women; in this body of work, she extends figuration through a foregrounded engagement with Swedish landscape. Materially, Jallow augments acrylic and oil with threads laid atop the canvas, dipped in wax, operating as circulating veins that map ancestral ties between body and ground. Her palette is deliberate: northern violets and greys balanced by measured pulses of carmine and ochre. Conceived specifically for this fair, the presentation is organized as a clear, cohesive environment that rewards close looking.
