Sabine Finkenauer, DE
Sabine Finkenauer’s artistic practice is rooted in drawing, from which she develops and visualizes her ideas.
Her work explores the transformation of everyday objects—furniture, plants, clothing, architecture, and mountains—into simplified, abstracted forms. Through a process of synthesis and clarification, Finkenauer distills these forms into a personal visual language, where geometry, ornament, and rhythm guide the composition. Her method is playful and intuitive, approaching drawing as a game in which rules emerge through experimentation. At the core of her work is a pursuit of simplicity, in which she finds beauty, clarity, and expressive power. Finkenauer’s pieces balance figuration and abstraction, imagination and observation, creating a visual universe that feels both familiar and dreamlike.
Sabine Finkenauer (b. 1961, Rockenhausen, Germany) has lived and worked in Barcelona since 1993.
