Jone Kvie explores the understanding of the world and our place in it through sculpture, examining both the possibilities and limitations of the medium. His work evokes uncertainty and sparks multiple associations, resisting fixed narratives.

By translating natural phenomena like meteors and star clusters into sculptural forms, Kvie captures the essence of the unknown, blending scientific concepts with abstract aesthetics.

Jone Kvie (b. 1971) has exhibited widely in Scandinavian galleries and museums, including ARoS ArtMuseum in Aarhus, Kunstnernes His (Oslo), Bergen Art Museum, The National Museum of Art (Oslo), Malmö Art Museum and Göteborg Museum of Art. He has produced a number of public and private commissions, and is represented in key public and private collections including those of CorcoranMuseum (Washington DC), AROS (Aarhus); The National Museum of Art (Oslo), The National Public ArtsCouncil (Stockholm), the Art Museums in Malmö, Bergen and Stavanger, as well as with a permanentinstallation at Göteborg Museum of Art. Highlights include his solo exhibitions Vessels at the Vigeland Museum in Oslo (2017), Metamorfos at Göteborgs konstmuseum, Gothenburg, Sweden (2018), and at Stavanger Kunstmuseum (2019). will be Documenta fifteen in Kassel (2022), Kunsten Museum ofModern Art, Aalborg, Denmark (2022). Jone Kvie lives and works in Stavanger, Norway and Naples, Italy.
