Jon Erik Nyholm, DK

Jon Erik Nyholm’s practice explores the emotional and symbolic ties between humans and nature. In his abstract landscapes, elements such as trees, rocks, flowers, the sea, and the sky drift in and out of each other, forming scenes that feel both poetic and uncanny.

Rooted in memory and emotion, his works invite a quiet contemplation of our place in both the natural and the imagined world. Working across painting, printmaking, and ceramics, Nyholm builds up subtle layers that gradually reveal themselves over time. Regardless of medium, his approach remains tactile and intuitive, allowing texture, transparency, and surface to shape the atmosphere of each piece.
