Johnny Höglund, SE

Johnny Höglund (b. 1988, Eslöv, Sweden) lives and works in Malmö. He holds an MFA fromMalmö Art Academy (2025) and a BA from Goldsmiths, University of London.

In 2025, he was awarded the prestigious Edstrandska Grant and will present in a forthcoming award exhibition in Malmö at the end of October Höglund’s archival research invites viewers to re-experience memories with their whole bodies. Through the slow medium of paint he explores the intersection of technology, memory, and materiality. By translating digital residues into painterly form, he offers not only an exploration of how we see today, but also an opportunity to pause and rediscover narrative amidst the momentum of the scroll.

Höglund has participated in group exhibitions at institutions and galleries including OHSH Projects, London; Galerie du Jour Agnès B., Paris; David Risley Gallery, Copenhagen; and Gallery Steinsland Berliner, Stockholm, among others. His works are represented in the collection of Stockholm Konst as well as in private collections in Canada, Greece, the United Kingdom, the United States, Sweden, and Switzerland.
