Johan Carlsson Ström, SE
Johan Carlsson Ström was born in 1985 and grew up in Halmstad, Sweden.
In 2003, he began his artistic education at Fria målarskolan (The Free Painting School) at Markaryd’s Folk High School. Several years later, in 2019, he took up studies at Dômen’s Art School in Gothenburg, followed by a stint at Gerlesborg’s Art School in Stockholm, before entering at HDK Valand, Academy of Art and Design in Gothenburg, where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2024. Shortly thereafter, in the autumn of 2024, he made his debut at Galleri Hammarén in Gothenburg.
Johan Carlsson Ström was awarded the 2024 Carl Larsson Prize by The Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm. Recently he was awarded the prestigious Becker´s Artist Scholarship 2026 in Stockholm.
