Atti Johansson, SE
Atti Johansson (1917–2003) was born in Kiruna and lived most of her life in Sollefteå since the 1940s. She had a strong commitment to the environment, which she expressed in both her private life and in art.
Johansson studied 1954-57 at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. She also studied art in Paris. After studying in Copenhagen, Johansson became part of the avant-garde in Swedish art until the 1970s. During the second half of the 1960s, Johansson worked on a series called Mekanisk/Organisk in which she critically examined the new computer technology. The series was the basis for several public works, including a ten-meter-long wall decoration with the title Our consciousness is far behind the progress of technology at Gudlav Bilderskolan.
The last major exhibitions with Johansson were at Västernorrlands Museum in 2024 and Havremagasinet Konsthall in 2025.
