Carla Zaccagnini, AR
Carla Zaccagnini is a visual artist and writer educated in São Paulo, who has also worked as curator and educator. Her practice unfolds across installation, film, sculpture, and text, often shaped by long-term research.
Zaccagnini’s conceptually driven work examines how invisible power structures and struggles become visible, the forms they assume, and how they inhabit our daily lives and imagination. By recontextualizing objects, analyzing recurring images, and deconstructing persistent narratives, she questions the limitations of language and representation and the fallibility of perception. Through this lens, her work challenges naturalized ways of telling, seeing, and depicting, while opening the possibility for other ways of imagining and acting in the world.
Carla Zaccagnini has a BA in Art Education from Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado, São Paulo(1991-95) and a Master is Visual Poetics from the University of São Paulo (2001-04). She has been theProfessor of the School of Conceptual and Contextual Practices, at the Royal Danish Academy of FineArts, since its foundation in 2017.
