Founded in 1998 in Laren by Justine Janknegt, Janknegt Gallery is an outstanding gallery, deploying its projects within its walls as well as abroad, privileging collaborations and co-development with numerous actors of the art world.

The gallery is known for its tightly focused one-person shows and for imaginative thematic exhibitions that present contemporary artists in new and illuminating contexts.

The gallery is also dedicated to exhibiting the work of overlooked young artists in art historical contexts.Trained as an art historian, Justine brings a scholarly focus and emphasis on research to the gallery program. She is also a mentor for young artists.

Janknegt Gallery regularly participates in prestigious international fairs, such as Art Rotterdam, Approche Paris, Enter Art Fair Copenhagen, PAN Amsterdam, Unseen Amsterdam, Volta Basel, Drawing Now Paris, Art on Paper Amsterdam and Art on Paper New York.  Unclassifiable, Justine has never ceased to multiply her activities throughout her career, always driven by her commitment to freedom, the springs of the psyche and her passion for living culture. The gallery is within 25 minutes distance from Amsterdam.
