Galleri Susanne Ottesen, DK
Galleri Susanne Ottesen was founded in 1983 by Susanne Ottesen. It was one of a small number of pioneering galleries in Denmark to champion a generation of local and international artists who were transforming the way art was thought, made and presented.
Over the past thirty years, Galleri Susanne Ottesen has been building on this foundation, identifying and supporting succeeding generations of artists, each with a radical and distinctive approach to the possibilities of art.

This year's presentation
Galleri Susanne Ottesen is excited to announce its participation in this year’s Market Art Fair, where it will present a solo exhibition by Czech-German artist Jiri Georg Dokoupil.
Following his exhibition “Venetian Bubbles” at Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana in Venice in 2024, the exhibition will present a new series of works exploring the theme of bubbles, featuring both paintings and glass sculptures.
The exhibition will feature Dokoupil’s signature works on canvas, where color is captured through the delicate and fleeting nature of soap bubbles paired with paint. The vibrant, dynamic colors of the paintings emerge from the interplay between the bubble and canvas and the moment that the bubble pops, creating ever-shifting, ephemeral color themes.
These works will be displayed alongside sculptures that bring the “living” form of bubbles into three-dimensional space, offering a striking contrast between the temporal nature of his paintings and the capturing of a bubble in its most fragile, transient moment. Through this, Dokoupil challenges the impossible: preserving the beauty of a soap bubble at its peak, frozen in time.
