About the gallery

Alice Folker Gallery is a contemporary art gallery founded in 2017 in the center of Copenhagen, Denmark.

From 2017-2019, the gallery invited art students from academies to exhibit. Currently, it represents 7 female and 3 male artists in the ages between 28-43 years. All represented artists have made exhibitions at large institutions and museums, several of these have been awarded with prizes. Furthermore, the artists have made public commissions for places such as the Western High Court and the Eastern High Court in Denmark, and are in the collection of museums or public foundations, such as Ny Carlsberg Fondet, Statens Kunstfond, Vejle Kunstmuseum, Horsens Kunstmuseum, the City Council of Copenhagen and Politikens Hus.

Frederik Næblerød

Frederik Næblerød (b. 1988, Denmark), MFA, The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Næblerød works in various media including paintings, drawings, sculptures, and off-grid projects. His works are expressive, sometimes bordering on the grotesque. They often present a concrete story or action in a snapshot, in which the viewer can find hints and references to problems in society. Upcoming exhibitions include a solo exhibition at Gl. Holtegaard, 2023. Recent exhibitions include Lazy 8, duo exhibition with Farshad Farzankia at The Telegraph, Czech Republic (2022); Seriously Fun, duo exhibition with Jeppe Hein at Jeppe Hein Studio, Berlin (2022); Time To Move, solo exhibition at Horsens Kunstmuseum (2022); Work in Progress, solo exhibition at Vejle Kunstmuseum (2022); Mental Make-up, solo show at Alice Folker Gallery (2021); FED LER - Krukker i kunsten nu, group show at Gl. Holtegaard (2020); Philipp Haverkampf in Berlin (2020); Politikens Forhal (2020); Kunsthal for Maritim Æstetik (2019); Anat Ebgi Gallery in Los Angeles (2018) and NADA in Miami by Canada Gallery (NYC, 2017). The project Korshage 2015-2016 was nominated for the AICA award in 2018. The duo exhibition OFF-Grid with Casper Aguila (2019) was awarded by Statens Kunstfond. Næblerød’s works have been purchased by Ny Carlsberg Fondet, Statens Kunstfond, Kastrupgårdsamlingen, Vejle Kunstmuseum and Horsens Kunstmuseum.
