QB Gallery
Oslo
QB Gallery was founded in 2014 and is an Oslo-based gallery for Scandinavian contemporary art representing both emerging and established artists.
The gallery works with a broad range of practices within contemporary art, including painting, photography, sculpture, textile art and installation, whilst following a non-hierarchical approach towards several scenes and artistic backgrounds. In 2021 the gallery introduced the exhibition room KUBEN, offering space to curatorial projects and exhibitions with artists and young creatives. The gallery aspires to make art available for a larger audience through gallery exhibitions, art fairs and online. In addition to exhibitions, the gallery has a large showroom on site.

Liv Tandrevold Eriksen
Liv Tandrevold Eriksen (b. 1976, Oslo) is educated from the KHIO Institute of colour in Oslo. She works with acrylic on canvas, not just as a base for a painting, but also as collage, textile work and sculpture.
In the first step of her process, diluted paint is allowed to penetrate the canvas, creating amorphous blobs of colour. In some of her works she experiments with sewn elements as parts of her paintings. When working with sculpture, the canvas is transformed from paintings to sculptural entities, displaying a tug of war between the modernist sculptural object, often in highly regarded materials such as bronze and stone, and the textile material, which is often considered lower in the hierarchy and often related to the realm of the woman.
The canvas is a crucial part of most paintings, making them in some ways partly textile works. In Tandrevold Eriksen’s work this fact is made into an important and explicit point. By connecting and reconnecting with the fragility and the opportunities of the fabric she investigates the material’s inherent possibilities.
Tandrevold Eriksen’s work is acquired by Statens Kunstråd (SE), Norwegian Culture Council (NO), Equinor (NO) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (NO).
