Copenhagen

BRIGADE is a contemporary art gallery that promotes international contemporary art and seeks to create dialogue and exchange of ideas across a multitude of platforms.

Contact gallery

BRIGADE primarily operates from its gallery in Copenhagen, Denmark and its residency in Havana, Cuba, always seeking out representations and collaborations that expands the perception of what art can be
and do. Because of BRIGADE’s focus on allowing its artists to experiment and expand their practise, the exhibition programme is not easily summarised, but rather constitutes a wide range of fields in dialogue with each other.

Featured artists

Coline Marotta

Drawing from her interest in the ontological, Coline Marotta's (b. 1991, France) gentle expressionist paintings depict a mood of tranquility, comfort, and reconciliation. Her contemplative characters are long limbered, found in acts of embrace or reaching out, adding a sense of intimacy to the cramped spaces they inhabit.

Since finishing her MFA from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (2017), Marotta has
exhibited at Mine Project (Hong Kong), The Tennis Elbow (NYC) and the Public Gallery (London), amongst others. Her work has been included in public collections such as Statens Kunstfond, alongside multiple notable private collections. Marotta currently lives and works in Copenhagen.
