Robin Seir, SE
Seir’s formal language explores the displacement from the self-referential to the associative which occurs through multitude, suggesting that an entity is greater than the sum of its parts.
On the surface, simple geometric formations are repeated in combinations that form clusters mirrored across the entire canvas. The paintings can then be seen as visual attempts to emphasize the internal constitution around which a structure revolves.
Seir’s paintings can be described as sequential, with patterns of individual works creating potentially endless combinations between the works, which in turn generate a holistic outlook.
