Maria Jacobson, SE
Maria Jacobson’s art centers on sculpture and installation, exploring the space between two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms.
Her fascination with language leads her to examine how meaning changes based on the materials, contexts, and sizes she chooses. Each version of her forms is unique, revealing the characteristics of its material and setting. While she primarily works with MDF, plaster, and paint, she has also created outdoor sculptures in stone.
Maria Jacobson born 1991, lives and works in Malmö. Jacobson has an MFA from Malmö Art Academy in 2020 and a BFA from Bergen Art Academy in 2017. Selected exhibitions; Lund Art Gallery 2023, Prøwestenen Copenhagen 2022, Hjortens sculpture park 2021, Edstrandska exhibition 2020. Public assignments at Broby 2024, Torpskolan Lerum 2024. Maria Jacobson is represented in Moderna Museet’s collection. She has received work grants every year since 2019 from various funds.
