Janina Renström, SE

Janina Renström (b. 1997, Nässjö, Sweden). Through her paintings, Renström wants to narrate but also mislead.

In her work, everything revolves around capturing a fleeting moment. She reworks photographs from old private albums, imbuing them with new meaning. These frozen moments, often barely recalled by their original owners, carry an elusive significance as their meaning begins to blur.

Renström holds both a BFA and an MFA from the Umeå Academy of Fine Arts (2022/24). Her accolades include the Paul Peterson Scholarship and the Umeå Municipality Art Grant, and she has also been nominated for the Fredrik Roos Grant. Her works are part of the Linköping Municipality collection and several private collections.
