Henrik Ekesiöö, SE
Henrik Ekesiöö (b. 1983) lives and works in Stockholm.
Moulding memories into a kind of generic item—that’s what Henrik Ekesiöö does. By revisiting a memory and studying every detail of it in his mind, giving it a name and a physical shape, the memory, in a strange way, becomes an object he can relate to more distantly, transforming it into common goods.
The sculptures in the series Weekdays are made of bronze, which Ekesiöö paints with oil colours. Henrik is interested in making humour deeply serious, linking it to history, and giving it the chance to survive into the future.
