Gustav Gaston, SE
Gustav Gaston (b. 1988) is born in Sweden. He graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2022, working mainly within the fields of sculpture, sound and installation, he regularly exhibits in Denmark, Sweden and Iceland.
Gustav Gaston lives and works in Copenhagen, where he navigates a fine line between function and form. With a practice rooted in disassembly and reconfiguration, he transforms the familiar urban landscape into poetic inquiries on autonomy and identity. Recently, his work has focused on deconstructing mass-produced equipment and reimagining these parts as ambiguous sculptures, challenging viewers to reconsider objects as entities with lives of their own.
Blending familiarity with the unexpected, Gaston’s pieces stand as quiet reflections on the overlooked structures around us, offering a subtle critique of our reliance on, and indifference to, the technologies shaping our modern experience.
