Drawing from her interest in the ontological, Coline Marotta’s gentle expressionist paintings depict a mood of tranquility, comfort, and reconciliation. Her contemplative characters are long limbered, found in acts of embrace or reaching out, adding a sense of intimacy to the cramped spaces they inhabit.

Since finishing her MFA from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (2017), Marotta has exhibited at A cappella (Naples), Mine Project (Hong Kong), The Tennis Elbow (NYC) and the Public Gallery (London), amongst others. Her work has been included in public collections such as Statens Kunstfond, alongside multiple notable private collections.
