Anita Jørgensen, DK
Anita Jørgensen (b. 1942) is a renowned Danish sculptor within the field of conceptual concretesculpture.
Her career spans 4 decades, starting in the early 1980s in Copenhagen’s experimental sculpture community around the now legendary artist-run collective ‘Leifsgade22’. Since then, Jørgensen’s star has risen, and she now looks back on a large exhibition catalogue that has appeared at most Danish museums, including the Statens Museum for Kunst, Louisiana, Esbjerg Kunstmuseum and ARoS in Aarhus to name a few.
She is now widely regarded as one of the most important artists of her time of material-focused female sculptures in Denmark, and a grand retrospective of her works is now being assembled to be shown at an as-yet-unveiled Danish museum.
