Gallery Steinsland/Berliner was conceived in 2008 by Jeanette Steinsland and Jacob Kampp Berliner. Its prior intent was to showcase and present emerging as well as established artists. The gallery strives to promote artists internationally and incorporates all aspects within the art world from performance to paintings. Additionally, GSB takes part in the on-going socio-political discussions appearing on the art scene.
Gunnar Smoliansky is a Swedish photographer born in 1933 in Visby, Gotland. In his 20’s he moved to Stockholm and took his first steps in his life long commitment to photography. Still active in his creative work, his most renowned photographs are from the 1950’s-1970’s, capturing everyday situations of his home district in Södermalm’s inhabitants in his characteristic black and white aesthetics. His aptitude for details have captured the capitals frame of mind as well as collectors around the globe ever since. His work has been produced in a list of published books.
Tommy Sveningsson is a Swedish painter born in 1982 in Jönköping. He holds a degree from Valand Art College in Gothenburg. His work has previously been exhibited at Bohusläns Museum, Konsthallen Trollhättan, Galleri Thomassen, Nässjö konsthall and Kunming in China. Tommy Sveningsson’s works is drawn snapshots from his everyday explorations of the Swedish urban landscape. Subdued and quiet, the works bring out a timeless and lyrical reflection of the contemporary through scenes taken from forests, parks and motorway junctions in Sweden and beyond.
