Galleri SPECTA (DK)

Eva Steen Christensen

Galleri SPECTA is a gallery for contemporary art, representing a selected group of diverse Scandinavian and international artists. The gallery presents six-eight exhibitions every year, solo as well as curated group shows. The program is characterised by a diversity in the artists’ approaches, ideas and stories rather than by a certain formal or conceptual viewpoint, as well as introducing a wide range of media such as installation, sculpture, drawing, collage, performance, ceramics, video, photography and painting. Specta was founded in 1980 in Aarhus, Denmark. In 1993 the gallery moved to Copenhagen.

Eva Steen Christensen (b. 1969, DK) was educated at Chelsea School of Arts 1996 and works in a large variety of media, always focusing on a sculptural expression. Christensen has done numerous exhibitions, as well as public commissions, including the ECB in Frankfurt, Herlufsholm in Denmark and the University of Roskilde. Major collections count a.o. Arken Museum, New Carlsberg Foundation, Montana.
